The truth about our rebrand

You may have noticed things have changed around here. The walls look a little different from the last time you dropped by. Everything feels a bit more comic books than ‘do the books’. We don’t look like your average accountants.

Good. That’s how we want you to feel.

We want you to get to know us, really.

We like to think about our website as our virtual waiting room. When you make yourself at home on our homepage, you’re greeted with these words first:

Because we work in a brick and mortar office on a high street in Essex, we have the privilege of meeting many of our clients face to face.
 
We’ve made real connections and had real conversations (over multiple cups of tea). We’ve talked about your family, your hobbies, the football. We know when you’re getting married, when your baby is due, what kind of sandwich you like.
 
It also means we’re just around the corner for the bigger conversations. The cashflow worries and tax fears, the life changing decisions. We’re there when the overwhelm hits and the stress of running a business alone becomes too much.

You don’t need to be local for us to support you

Now we’re seeing our business grow beyond the local area, we want new clients to feel the same connection with us online as they would do when they pop into the office and say hello.

What that relationship means to us:

Support, always – We’re in love with the magic of tech, but sometimes you just need to pick up the phone – and we don’t charge for that! We’re ready to help with any business challenges, big or small.
 
Honesty, always – No fluff, no jargon, no BS. We get the taxes done, so that we have more time for a cuppa and an honest conversation about your business.
 
Efficiency, always – We use the latest and best technology so that we can provide real time reporting on your numbers so that you can make informed decisions about the future of your business.

A reminder that things don’t have to stay the same

A large part of our rebrand was about reminding you that things don’t have to stay the way they are, and accounting doesn’t always look the way you expect it to.
 
We meet a lot of business owners who seem to be losing money rather than making a saving. Many of them are getting hit with unexpected bills and seeing a direct (and often devastating) effect on their cash flow. Almost all of them are too busy to explore the technology that will take a hell of a load of manual work off their hands.
 
Unfortunately, due to their experiences with other accountants, many don’t realise that we work for you, not the tax man.
 
In everything we do we ask, how can we make your life easier? And we’re honest about exactly how we plan to do that, about our fixed pricing, and about what we think you can achieve when you work with us.

Why the superhero references?

Like we said, accounting doesn’t always look the way you expect it to.
 
The answer to this one is simple. Because it’s something we’re geeky about. From the comic book posters to the coffee table adorned with graphic novels. We don’t have certificates on our walls, we have The Hulk.

At Golding, we’re not afraid of the truth

We’re not going to make up an elaborate story about our rebrand. Plain and simply, we wanted our website to give a true representation of who we are and what we do, to build a better connection with you.
 
We recognise that our clients don’t need us to be in suits and ties, and they don’t care about formalities online. They just want someone to listen and show them how to keep more of their hard earned money.
